Artist Information
HANDBRAKE is the alias of West Australian street and graphic artist Hans Bruechle. Hans creates wild and intricate pieces on any surface from huge wall works to surfboards, skateboards, sneakers, hockey sticks, motorbike helmets, vodka bottles and anything else not nailed down. He is a crazy keen skateboarder and has a clothing and skateboard line as part of the HANDBRAKE creative output and has produced pieces for global brands like McDonalds, 3D Surfboard fins, Lycan Hockey, Porsche, Mercedes, Red Bull, Universal Pictures, McDonalds, Skullcandy and Red Bull.
In 2018 he was the only international artist invited to Taupo’s Graffiato Street Art Festival, and is a particular favourite for high profile collectors like pro-surfer Josh Kerr, The Stone Temple Pilots, Metallica, and actor Dan Aykroyd.
